At the northern end of Bondi Beach, the Bondi Baths – which sit beneath the dramatic Bondi Icebergs, were built in the late 1880s. In 1929, the baths became home to the Bondi Icebergs Winter Swimming Club – formed by a group of local lifesavers who wanted to maintain their fitness during winter. Today, Bondi Icebergs is the only licensed winter swimming club in the world, and every year, the club’s season begins with a race held after a tonne of ice is deposited in the pool.
While the baths offer a tranquil place to swim and relax, the clubhouse is also definitely worth a visit. Downstairs, there’s a fun bistro with casual dining options and great views over Bondi Beach. And for a truly unforgettable experience, be sure to head upstairs to the sophisticated and ever-stylish Icebergs Bar and Dining.
